Costume formed in Los Angeles around 2012 as "Flesh on the rail". After a few initial line-up changes, the band settled and recorded a series of expressive demos that blended the urgency of post-punk, the rhythmic battery of industrial, and the reverb soaked landscapes of shoegaze.
